Welcome to the Farm!

Thank you for your interest in Road To Independence’s Farm Program!

Our farm program offers a pre-vocational training program for individuals with cognitive and/or physical disabilities in Newport, NH. Our program is available to all individuals who want to learn a new skill, become more independent, and become more involved in the community.
Individuals will have the opportunity to learn many different skills associated with our non-riding equine. Individuals will learn equine handling skills necessary to safely halter, lead and groom our donkeys, as well as skills needed to work in and around the farm.  In addition to learning equine, participants will learn many different life skills that they can use in their day to day lives such as proper dress, time management, improved communication and listening skills, just to name a few. There are also opportunities to accompany the donkeys as they go “On The Road” visiting area elder-care

residences, schools, the Newport Farmers Market and a variety of area parades and community events.
