Thank you for your interest in Road To Independence’s Aurora Bakery and Cafe!

Aurora Bakery and Cafe offers a pre-vocational training program for individuals with cognitive and/or physical disabilities. Our program is available to all individuals who want to learn a new skill, become more independent, and become more involved in the community.

Individuals will have the opportunity to learn many different aspects of the foodservice industry, including safe food handling and sanitation, bakery prep, customer service, packaging, merchandising and selling. In addition to learning culinary skills, participants will learn many different life skills that they can use in their day to day lives such as proper dress, time management, improved communication and listening skills, just to name a few.

This program will consist of a pre-agreed upon time frame, with the potential for more advance training, depending on individual skill level. Upon program completion, participants will have learned a variety of new skills, increase their self-esteem and confidence, and be ready for their next adventure on their road to independence.
